§ 117.03. APPLICATION FOR CERTIFICATE; FEES.

  • (A) All applications for a certificate of convenience and necessity for a taxicab company shall be made by the owner to the City Clerk-Treasurer. The application shall contain the full name and address of the owner, the length of time the proposed vehicle has been in use, the number of persons it is capable of carrying and the model, year and serial number.

    (B) (1) The application fee for a certificate of convenience and necessity for a taxicab company shall be in the following amounts:
    (a) $150 for the first taxicab owned and proposed to be operated by a taxicab company; and
    (b) $50 for each subsequent taxicab owned and proposed to be operated by a taxicab company.
    (2) This application fee shall be paid to the City Clerk-Treasurer with the filing of the application and shall be held by the City Clerk-Treasurer pending final action by the Board of Public Works and Safety. If the application for the taxicab company is approved by the Board, then and in that event, the application fee shall be the first years' annual license fee for that application.
    (3) Each taxicab company holding a certificate of convenience and necessity following the first year shall annually pay a license fee to the City Clerk-Treasurer as follows
    (a) $150 annual license fee for the first taxicab owned and operated by a taxicab company; and
    (b) $50 annual license fee for each subsequent taxicab owned and operated by each taxicab company.
